Overview
Khởi Sắc, meaning Blooming, is a Lunar New Year gift set conceptualized and designed by Bracom Agency for Tết 2022. The project was born from our desire to capture the very first moment of spring - when colors awaken, homes come alive, and hope quietly begins to flourish.
The Concept
When Spring Begins to Bloom
Khởi Sắc celebrates the arrival of Tết through the familiar beauty of Saigon’s everyday architecture and traditions. Inspired by the iron window grills of old apartment buildings, the design portrays flowers blooming behind each window, capturing scenes of families preparing for the New Year with warmth, hope, and anticipation. By combining traditional Vietnamese symbols with a contemporary visual language, the gift set conveys a heartfelt message of joy, prosperity, and new beginnings.
The Design
The Floral Pattern
The floral illustrations celebrate the flowers most commonly found in Vietnamese homes during Tết, including Chrysanthemum, Carnation, and Kalanchoe. Printed with silkscreen techniques on fine art paper, the patterns use green, yellow, and orange to symbolize growth, spring sunlight, and new energy, transforming the gift boxes into decorative objects that embody the festive spirit.
The Gift Package
The gift set combines a transparent lid with a kraft paper structure to create a package that feels both elegant and substantial. By revealing the floral artwork beneath, the clear cover enhances depth, texture, and visual impact, allowing the gift box to function as both packaging and a display piece within the home.
From Window Grills to a Saigon Apartment Building
Inspired by the iron window grills of old Saigon apartments, the laser-cut kraft paper sleeve brings a sense of architectural memory and local identity to the design. When displayed together, the boxes resemble a colorful apartment building filled with individual stories, symbolizing community, togetherness, and the shared hopes of a new spring.
A celebration of Saigon, spring, and togetherness, Khởi Sắc brings familiar memories into bloom and welcomes a new year filled with joy, prosperity, and hope.
