Amidst the vibrant rhythm of the city, Laluna asserts its own identity — like the moon, quietly glowing above the restless streets.
Amid the endless rotation of day and night, the Laluna Cafe & Brunch mooncake box unfolds like a slow-motion film: layer by layer, a landscape rises into a tunnel of time, where the black cat — Laluna’s mascot — sits calmly at the heart of the story, observing the ever-changing world while remaining true to its own grace and character.
The concept of “The Flow of Time – The Infinite Cycle” is transformed into a visual structure of depth and poetry. The front face features a circular window, like a telescope lens, revealing intricate layers of cut and sculpted paper — houses, clouds, and trees overlapping in a tender rhythm. The warm amber tones of dawn embrace the deep blues of night, meeting at the center where the moon glows — the luminous core of the design. The moon’s surface shimmers with an iridescent finish, changing hues with every tilt of the hand, evoking the passing of time over quiet rooftops. Surrounding it, a dark midnight-blue sky dusted with tiny silver dots suggests a gentle pulse — a stillness that breathes when held against the light.
Laluna – Timeless Moonbox
Encircling the body of the box is a minimalist illustration of Laluna’s iconic storefront — a subtle architectural line drawing of doors, arches, and windows. It serves both as a mark of identity and an invitation to enter “a Laluna night” — where the café stands beneath the moon, serene and luminous. The box opens from the center like a book, revealing a stage-like moment: two panels parting like velvet curtains to unveil four mooncakes nestled symmetrically on each side — a balance that elevates both ceremony and emotion. Every detail carries thoughtful precision: a minimalist leather handle that turns the box into a fashion-like accessory; seamless folds that enhance the tactile experience; and the inner circular cutouts — twin “time portals” inviting the gaze deeper into the scene. The visual narrative is built using the paper theater technique — soft, wave-like contours layered to create depth and shadow. The “day” side is painted in honeyed tones of orange, amber, and warm wood — sunlight pouring over houses and trees. The “night” side descends into layers of cobalt, navy, and silver mist — expanding into a quiet cosmos where the moon becomes the reason for every movement. At the center, the black cat is the heartbeat of the entire composition — its wide eyes and calm posture evoking the timeless presence of a silent observer, a keeper of memory. Amid countless trends and passing styles, the cat embodies Laluna’s statement of identity — a voice of quiet confidence that doesn’t chase noise, but cultivates intimacy and belonging.
We are proud of the impact our design had on the success of the business and look forward to future opportunities to work with conscious brands.
