Mentioning August is synonymous with reminiscing about a warm and radiant season of familial bonds and the resplendent full moon: the Mid-Autumn Festival. During the Mid-Autumn night, the luminous moon becomes a vessel for countless dreams of the young, a moment for families to gather around the table with tea and cakes. It's a time to grant oneself a bit of tranquility, releasing the soul to the twinkling lights across the sky.
In the 2023 Mid-Autumn season, Bracom and the W Gourmet collaboratively crafted packaging that draws from the brilliance of the full moon as the focal point. Under the concept of "The Moon's Celebration" the moon's image is intricately etched to become the essence of the creation. The ethereal scene of the Mid-Autumn night, where the heavens meet the earth, is encapsulated within the design of the "moon box." The moon's image, observed from above, is creatively reconstructed through lenses and design language.
The concept & executions
To honor the uniqueness of the subject, Bracom's design team employed paper scanning and light techniques. With flexible folds and artistic adaptations on the surface, the "Full Moon" emerges with a fresh, magnetic beauty, no longer a simple smooth sphere. The fusion of paper material and curvatures breathes modernity into an image seemingly traditional and familiar. Not only illuminated by light, but the moon also becomes even more impressive through meticulously artistic, romantic details. Techniques of gold foil stamping and embossing bring sharp yet natural renditions of stars, beams of light, and sky clouds.
The transparent lid is crafted from mica, allowing viewers to clearly see every detail of the Mid-Autumn night scene. The box's surface is wrapped in velvet fabric with a sturdy rim frame and metal handle, creating a refined and durable whole.
